Mid-Level Associate – Financial Institutions (New York, NY)
A prestigious global law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate (2+ years PQE) to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in New York. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-value mergers, acquisitions, and reinsurance transactions involving domestic and international financial institutions, insurance companies, and reinsurers.
About the Role
This associate will play a key role advising clients on corporate transactions, restructurings, capital raising, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work closely with senior attorneys and global clients on deals that shape the future of the insurance and financial services industries.
Key Responsibilities
- 
Advise financial institutions and insurers on acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, reinsurance, and capital-raising transactions
 - 
Draft and review regulatory filings, disclosure schedules, board resolutions, and corporate consents
 - 
Conduct due diligence (buy-side and sell-side) and prepare diligence reports
 - 
Draft and analyze transaction agreements, public filings (including current reports and proxy statements)
 - 
Liaise with clients, counterparties, and regulators throughout all phases of transactions
 
Who You Are
- 
Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent; LLM a plus
 - 
Minimum of 2 years of corporate transactional experience at a leading law firm
 - 
Experience advising financial institutions, including insurers and reinsurers, on corporate transactions
 - 
Strong background in insurance regulatory matters, filings, and compliance
 - 
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills
 - 
Admitted to the New York Bar
 
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $260,000 – $310,000 (DOE, New York market range)
